Amber Heard began her career as an actress in the early 2000s. The Los Angeles-based actress dropped out of high school in order to pursue her acting career. She built up a portfolio of roles that led to her first leading role. From two back-to-back supporting roles in critically acclaimed movies, she’s gone on to appear in some very well-known franchises.

Her role as Princess Mera in Aquaman is perhaps one of her most recognizable roles. The DC extended universe is a popular superhero franchise that brings the DC superhero comics to life. She will reprise her role and star in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which will be released in December 2023. Despite rumors she wouldn’t return because of current personal and legal issues, she still appears in the movie, especially now that filming is over. In the meantime, we take a look at some of Heard’s best films.

7. Zombieland

An entertaining zombie comedy with a fantastic cast (Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, Bill Murray, and Amber Heard) At the beginning of Zombieland, Heard plays a girl nicknamed 406 who is the gorgeous neighbor of the main character (Eisenberg). The protagonist lets the ill-fated 406 into his apartment before realizing she’s a zombie. One of Heard’s most successful films is Zombieland.

6. 3 Days to Kill

Terminal cancer is spreading through the body of CIA Agent Ethan Renner (Kevin Costner) in 3 Days to Kill. The CIA assassin Vivi Delay thinks he can help her find her target, The Wolf, and offers him a drug that could extend his life in exchange for helping her find him, but in doing so puts his family in danger.

The plot of this film revolves around the assassin Vivi Delay, played by Heard. It was thanks to her that Renner was able to fight his cancer, but he would also have been in a lot less trouble as he tried to reconcile with his family and find The Wolf. Despite her hard exterior, Heard has a soft side that proves she isn’t heartless when he needs it.

5. Paranoia

Gary Oldman and Harrison Ford play all-powerful tech billionaires who will stop at nothing to destroy one another in this entertaining thriller. Our hero is Adam (played by Liam Hemsworth), a young techie recruited to spy on his boss’ rival. Emma (Heard), Adam’s love interest, helps him when he feels his life is in danger. In Paranoia, Heard’s character is both comely and dangerous, making her performance hard to ignore.

4. The Ward

A troubled woman named Kristen is admitted to a psychiatric ward after setting fire to an abandoned farmhouse in The Ward. The patient meets several other patients there, but they all seem to be haunted by the same supernatural figure. Kristen now has to try and save the other girls from the monster before it kills them all.

Kristen is played by Heard, who brings the character to life in a way that only she could. Dealing with a monster in a scary movie is one thing, but dealing with one you can only see, and then having to suffer the consequences? Her ability to make that believable to the audience is exceptional.

3. All the Boys Love Mandy Lane

The story of All The Boys Love Mandy Lane is about jealousy and revenge. Although Mandy Lane attracts the attention of many of her classmates, she remains faithful to Emmet (Michael Welch), who is bullied and humiliated by them. In the first of many ruthless deaths he executes, he leads one of them to jump off the roof to his death. Heard plays the unique role of Mandy Lane, becoming her first starring role. After watching this film, there’s no doubt that Heard knows what she’s doing, as she needs to seem like the kind of girl guys will fight over and hide something much darker than they could ever imagine.

2. The Rum Diary

The Rum Diary follows aspiring author Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp), who can’t sell a book and decides to become a journalist instead. The newspaper he is hired at is rumored to close soon, so he continues looking for alternate jobs and meets Sanderson (Aaron Eckhart) who offers a job writing advertisements. For Kemp, who is just trying to keep afloat in this book-to-film adaptation, trouble brews at both jobs.

In this film, Heard portrays Chenault, Sanderson’s fiancée who eventually falls in love with Kemp. While she is still engaged, she is constantly pining over Kemp, but does not give into temptation. A comedy like this needs a love interest like that.

1. Aquaman

Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa) visits Atlantis for the first time at the request of Princess Mera, hoping to prevent his half-brother Orm from starting a war with the surface dwellers. To find the trident of Atlan, Atlantis’s first ruler, Arthur must go through a series of trials and puzzles. This would prove that he is the rightful king and prevent the war from starting.

Heard plays Princess Mera, an Atlantean warrior. Arthur wouldn’t have been able to complete his journey without her. Heard brings real guts to the table when he goes directly against his own family to achieve peace.
