A fourth Riddick movie, Riddick: Furya, is currently in production. The action star Vin Diesel has teased Riddick: Furya, the fourth installment. In a powerful new post on social media, Diesel teases the character’s other-worldly new abilities when he returns in his long-awaited role.
Fans of the enigmatic warrior will be eager for his comeback after seeing this latest look with the words “The Furyan” alongside the image. A comeback ten years in the making. Vin Diesel last appeared as Riddick in director David Twohy’s Riddick back in 2013, more than two decades after he made his debut as the character in Pitch Black. Following up on the much grander adventure in 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick, Riddick received mixed reviews from critics but remains one of Diesel’s most memorable characters. As a result, Riddick: Furya will explore the character’s mysterious origins.

“In the new film, Riddick finally returns to his home world, a place he barely remembers and one he fears might be left in ruins by the Necromongers,” the official description of Riddick: Furya reads. “But there he finds other Furyans fighting for their existence against a new enemy. And some of these Furyans are more like Riddick than he could have ever imagined.”

As a pre-production project, Riddick: Furya will be written and directed once again by David Twohy alongside Jim and Ken Wheat. Richard B. Riddick’s character has expanded greatly since the release of Pitch Black back in 2000. Returning director David Twohy says he and Diesel couldn’t ignore the fans’ calls to continue the story.
“Our legion fans have demanded it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honor their call to action with Riddick: Furya,” the filmmaker said. “My collaboration with Vin and One Race has spanned 20 fruitful years, as together we’ve created three movies, two video games, an anime production, and motion comics for the internet. This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s homeworld, where we finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis.”

Vin Diesel is currently finishing up the story of Dominic “Dom” Toretto, another of his most recognizable characters. There will be a double bill bringing an end to the Fast & Furious franchise with Fast X. In the tenth movie in the series, Dom faces his most personal threat yet as he must protect his crew and family from Cipher, who now joins forces with Dante Reyes, the son of drug lord Hernan Reyes, seeking revenge for the death of his father.

As directed by Louis Leterrier, Fast X features Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jason Momoa, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, John Cena, Jason Statham, Sung Kang, Alan Ritchson, Daniela Melchior, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren, Charlize Theron, and Brie Larson. The film is scheduled for release by Universal Pictures on May 19, 2023.
