When it comes to the Worst DC Superhero Castings it is important to strike a balance between realism and suspension of disbelief in comic book movies. This precarious casting calls tip the scales for men and women wearing tights. A superhero actor has an image that they bring to the role; some look so much like the superhero archetype that it’s as if they were born to play it. A character’s walk and talk contribute to his or her image. On and off the big screen, charisma and voice convince readers and viewers that the superhero they admire most is plausible and relatable.

It is the luxury of comics to use still images, and panels that inspire and instill imagination. It is in the mind’s eye that the action takes place beyond the boxed pages. It brings audiences closer to the characters when they watch their best and pivotal story arcs in motion. With the right casting, comic books and comic book movies become inseparable, seamless, and indelible. The wrong casting causes a retreat and division; wrinkles pile up, and stains ruin the reputation of the character.

7. Uma Thurman (Batman And Robin)

In Batman & Robin, Uma Thurman would have been a perfect Poison Ivy. It is a disservice to the villain we all know and love that the character was written as an over-the-top temptress.

Pamela Isley’s alter ego is a bombshell, no doubt about it. In the film, she was written as a simpering femme fatale, but she has become a much more militant and formidable character. Watching parts of this movie can even be painful at times.

6. Halle Berry (Catwoman)

Halle Berry is a treasure, but not in the role of Catwoman. Both the actress and the writer acknowledge that Catwoman was a terrible film, but we love her for being such a good sport about it. According to Berry, even though the film received a 9% Rotten Tomatoes rating and earned a Razzie, she met interesting people, learned martial arts, and earned a good salary.

5. George Clooney (Batman And Robin)

Throughout history, there have been many versions of Batman, making it easy to identify the weakest portrayals. George Clooney’s Bruce Wayne in Batman & Robin was too soft, just as Val Kilmer’s was too hard. We didn’t believe he was a masked vigilante or a playboy millionaire. In addition, his voice did not fit the Batman as well as other actors’ voices have, before and after him.

4. Amber Heard (Aquaman)

It would be an understatement to say Amber Heard’s casting is stormy. Divorce and domestic abuse towards Johnny Depp did not bring her back to calmer waters. Over four million signatures were collected on a Change.org petition to fire Heard. Heard, while pulling off the underwater princess look, was not favored by fans with this kind of fan devotion and demotion. Ironically, she did not do well as a romantic interest.

3. Jesse Eisenberg (Batman v Superman)

In the comics, Lex Luthor does not have hair. It’s a bald, old tycoon who isn’t the least bit eccentric. The Superman villain underwent a complete transformation thanks to Jesse Eisenberg. Rather than the seasoned and embittered rich genius, audiences were treated to a genius in his prime. Adaptations by Eisenberg are among the worst, if not the worst, departures from the original material.

2. Ryan Reynolds (Green Lantern)

Ryan Reynolds couldn’t resist mocking that night light of a green suit as Deadpool, his other alias after playing the intergalactic law enforcer. His superpower is CGI, and his weakness is imagination. Reynolds looks like Hal Jordan and has the attitude to match him, but his acting is not great. Parallax looks like diarrhea and floating through space is just plain silly. Green is the color of willpower that creates the universe and powers the Green Lantern Corps. For Reynolds, green is the color of envy he had for any actor that didn’t play his part.

1. Jared Leto (Suicide Squad)

He wouldn’t work as the Joker even if we weren’t aware of the inappropriate pranks he played as part of his “method acting” in Suicide Squad. Leto’s Joker looks like a goofy punk who can’t even pull off a simple bank robbery, let alone serve as Gotham’s most evil criminal mastermind.

Leto’s teeth and his less-than-fear-inspiring laugh render him a lesser Joker when compared to the previous Joker, who was just about perfect. It looks more like Kevin McCallister playing dress-up.
