It has been reported that Vin Diesel has publicly asked Dwayne Johnson to return to the Fast Saga for Fast and Furious 10 after a famous feud between the two actors.
There has been public talk that Vin Diesel has asked Dwayne Johnson to return for Fast & Furious 10. Currently scheduled for release on April 7, 2023, Fast & Furious 10 will be directed by longtime franchise director Justin Lin and is expected to set the stage for the eleventh and final installment in the series. Despite the fact that many franchise players will return, one player who will be noticeably absent is Dwayne Johnson who played Agent Hobbs in Fast Five and its three sequels.
It is well known that Johnson and Diesel had a falling out on the set of Fate of the Furious, and the two of them never worked together again. Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw was known at a time when tensions were high, and while Dwayne Johnson stepped away from the series, Universal Pictures saw a way to go low-revenue while keeping one of the biggest stars in Hollywood happy while expanding one of the most profitable brands through the release of this spin-off film. In the future, there will hopefully be a sequel to Hobbs & Shaw, a film that will carry on the Fast & Furious brand after the mainline series concludes.
However, it appears that the Fast & Furious franchise is coming to an end and they wish to bring back Johnson for the film’s finale. On his Instagram account, Diesel posted a photo of him and Johnson from Fast Five, publicly asking Johnson to return for Fast & Furious 10. In the letter, Diesel plays off a sense of family in letting Johnson know that his children call him Uncle Dwayne, and expressing wanting to make the next film a fitting finale for the franchise star Paul Walker who passed away in 2013 in the middle of filming Furious 7.
