It has been announced that Pablo Escobear, the real-life Cocaine Bear, will officiate at his first wedding.
In this movie, written by Jimmy Warden and directed by Elizabeth Banks, a black bear ingests a large amount of cocaine, sending it on a drug-fueled rampage. Based on a true story about a bear who consumed cocaine discarded by a drug smuggler in the Georgia woods, this bizarre story is based on true events. The real bear died of an overdose before it was found, so there are no similarities between the true story and Cocaine Bear.
The real bear died in 1985, so a taxidermist stuffed it and turned it into a tourist attraction. Over the years, it has moved around, but it currently resides in Lexington, Kentucky, in the museum of the Kentucky Fun Mall. According to TMZ, the Kentucky Fun Mall will host a wedding officiated by the Cocaine Bear himself. For the occasion, the museum is decorating the building with flowers and glowing hearts.
As long as you feel that the person marrying you – like Cocaine Bear – has the authority, this can be legal here in Kentucky,” said Griffin VanMeter, the museum’s co-founder.

We can only imagine how many others will travel to Kentucky to have Pablo Escobear officiate their own weddings. As a result of Cocaine Bear’s success in theaters, the film performed higher than expectations at the box office while garnering strong reviews. The concept is bonkers and far from what audiences have typically seen in movie theaters, but it certainly entertains, and many attendees are just looking for a good time at the theater.
