He told UNILAD that initial motivation was the driving force behind his actions. Growing up, I was fortunate enough to have friends and to be in an environment that allowed me to participate in a wide range of outdoor physical activities. Then I went through times when I didn’t train and did other things, and I would fall out of shape. After knowing what it felt like to be in shape and healthy, I immediately said, “I want to get back to that.”

Continuing: “I would advise people to get up and move. You don’t want to sit around and wait for something to happen. Just get up, take that first step, and get moving.” And in turn, there’s a flow-on effect to that, and the more you do that, the more addicted you become to feel that way. It’s very hard to go back and have it in any other way once you’ve tasted it.

Just have that sort of self-motivation and figure out what’s your purpose, why you’re doing this, and surround yourself with people who have the same sort of attitude. I believe there is no other motivation than to live a longer, healthier, and better life.”
