Planet of the Apes was reworked by Rupert Wyatt in 2011, following the 2008 feature The Escapist. Considering the classic nature of the 1968 original screenplay with Charlton Heston as the lead, it was a huge undertaking. It must be noted, however, that even this earlier work was an adaptation of Pierre Boulle’s 1964 literary work, La Planete des Singes (Planet of the Apes). One question remained, would Wyatt’s adaptation resemble the earlier work or the 2001 adaptation? It was quite a surprise to see the results.

Wyatt’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes would be the first in a trilogy. Through Wyatt’s vision, the three films would give a comprehensive and riveting account of the uprising of the primate class Hominoidea. Wyatt, however, was unable to fulfill his vision. When it came to directing the sequel, Wyatt was pressed for time. He graciously stepped down from the project. Matt Reeves directed the sequels Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War of the Planet of the Apes.
It has been five years since the apes waged war on humanity, leaving viewers thirsty for more. In a world ruled by primates, what happens? Nevertheless, there is hope for a resolution. The dramatic epic will finally come to a close in 2024. And here’s what to expect.

In order to exercise their right to rule, the primates have taken on humanity. In addition to these details, there are a few specific plot points. Any information beyond those few bits is pure speculation. Given the title, one may assume that the upcoming film will explore the associative issues that arise when apes have seized control of a world.
