In September, the first trailer to Dune was released to a lot of anticipation from fans. As COVID-19 upended the theatrical marketplace, Denis Villeneuve’s sci-fi adaptation is back with a new trailer ten months after the film was first released. The actor Timothée Chalamet stars in Dune as Paul, heir of the House Atreides.
Chani (Zendaya) opens the new trailer with a description of her desert planet Arrakis, which has been used by the empire to extract the planet’s natural resource known as Spice, and how her people have started to fight back. There is no doubt that spice is the most valuable resource in the known universe due to the fact that it is required for interstellar travel. In the film, we see that House Atreides – led by Leto (Oscar Isaac) – assumes stewardship over Arrakis.
The film Dune, which comes from Legendary and Warner Bros., is the first part of a planned adaptation of Frank Herbert’s classic novel, which is credited with inspiring works like Star Wars. In addition to Rebecca Ferguson, Josh Brolin, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Jason Momoa, Javier Bardem, Dave Bautista, David Dastmalchian, Charlotte Rampling, and Stellan Skarsgard, as the villainous Baron Harkonnen as well. The script was written by Jon Spaihts and Eric Roth.
