There is no fooling around when it comes to the runtime of James Cameron’s sci-fi epic sequel Avatar: ‘The Way of Water’. The average superhero movie lasts between 120 and 150 minutes, but Avatar isn’t one of them. Cameron may want to give fans everything they’ve been waiting for since fans have been waiting for a sequel since 2009.

According to the official synopsis, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) have formed a family. “But Jake must fight a difficult war against humans when an ancient threat resurfaces in Pandora.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Avatar: The Way of Water will last three hours and ten minutes.

Cameron, whose epic romance drama Titanic ran for three hours and 14 minutes, is not at all out of the ordinary for an acclaimed and award-winning director. With a total gross of $2.92 billion, Avatar is the highest-grossing film of all time at the worldwide box office. It is the first in a series of five films.With a running time of two hours and 41 minutes, that film was about 29 minutes shorter than its sequel.

Many blockbuster films have reportedly gotten longer since the Covid-19 pandemic, lasting longer than two hours and 30 minutes. Due to the long run time, Cameron previously encouraged fans to take a pee break. “The length of the show shouldn’t matter when people binge-watch for eight hours,” he told Empire magazine. I’ve watched my kids sit and watch five one-hour episodes in a row. “I’m like, give me a break.

In September, Cameron revealed a first look at a dozen outstanding underwater scenes from The Way of Water. In preparation for the sequel, fans were treated to a remastered version of the 2009 film. Releasing the film again was a big success, grossing $76 million globally, pushing the total gross of the film even closer to $3 billion.
