Plot
Ten years ago, “The Great Crumble” caused havoc on the world and resulted in the mysterious emergence of hybrid babies. Hybrids are feared and hunted by many humans who are unsure if they are the cause or result of the virus. A sheltered hybrid deer-boy named Gus (Christian Convery) unexpectedly befriends a wandering loner named Jepperd (Nonso Anozie) after living safely in his forest home for a decade. The two embark on a journey across what’s left of America in search of answers about Gus’ origins, Jepperd’s past, and the meaning of home.

Their story is filled with unexpected allies and enemies, and Gus soon discovers that the lush, dangerous world outside the forest is even more complex than he ever could have imagined.
“We ride on trains, climb mountains, run through forests. This is a show about what makes a family, what home means, and why it’s important to keep faith in humanity,” said creator Jim Mickle.
Sweet Tooth has been in development since 2016, and the comics existed even before that period. “I think everyone will relate to the show and the story even more than we ever imagined when we first began working on it,” says co-showrunner Beth Barnes Schwartz. Watching Sweet Tooth makes you feel hopeful for the future.
The Netflix series Sweet Tooth will premiere on June 4 and be available to stream.
