Michael Keaton has played a wide variety of characters throughout his successful career that dates back to the late 1970s. Keaton plays Ray Kroc, a struggling, but ambitious salesman who helps McDonald’s grow into a fast-food chain. McDonald’s owners (played by Nick Offerman and John Carroll Lynch) are convinced by him to expand their thriving local business into a franchise. He eventually buys out his partners and makes the company profitable. Keaton is an outstanding businessman.
6. Toy Story 3 – 2010
Providing the voice of the famous Ken doll in Disney’s highly anticipated sequel to Toy Story, Keaton delivers an outstanding performance. Despite his smugness and narcissism, he always tries to be humorous. Despite being a living doll, he has a lot of personality.
5. Mr. Mom – 1983
Keaton plays automotive engineer Jack, who has to stay at home and look after his three children after losing his job. Jack’s reversal of gender roles leads to a lot of misadventures, including playing poker with housewives and navigating grocery store trips.
4. Spotlight – 2015
Oscar-winning filmmaker Tom McCarthy tackles the controversial topic of child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church and the subsequent cover-up. As members of “The Boston Globe’s” investigative team, Keaton and his co-stars, such as Mark Ruffalo and Rachel McAdams, show sensitive and daring performances.

To return to darkly funny, Keaton said you would have to move from funny to disturbing to deeply sad. “And because of the way it was shot, you did not have the luxury of editing, where you can do 15 takes of that one line from that angle.”. All of it had to be in one shot, and the camera had to be in the right position.”.
I think it’s safe to say Keatons is a legend, and his body of work speaks for itself.
