The action flick Fast & Furious 10 has been delayed from April 7, 2023, to May 19, 2023, and audiences will not be reunited with Vin Diesel and the rest of the family until then. Justin Lin will once again direct the Fast & Furious finale, the first part of which pushes into the summer blockbuster season.
There is not much information available about Fast & Furious 10, other than that it will be the first in a pair of movies, which will together wrap up the hugely successful franchise. “I think the idea of the last chapter being two movies is correct,” Justin Lin said earlier this year. “I have to say I am so glad – because I think there was skepticism when I first started in this franchise about a sequel. So, the fact that you’re sitting here and saying, ‘Oh yeah, there will be two more movies,’ I’m like, ‘Wow.’ It really means a lot. So, every day when I wake up, I try to reconfigure and make sure whatever we’re talking about process-wise is gonna yield the best results. But I think having one chapter in two movies is appropriate. That’s where I sit today..
In F9, Justin Lin returns to the world of The Fast and the Furious, where Dom reunites with his family and picks up right after the events of The Fate of the Furious. With Dominic Toretto and his family facing a deadly assassin, Dom’s younger brother Jakob, who is working with their old enemy Cipher and who has a vendetta against Dominic, the story picks up. Several members of Vin Diesel’s beloved family appear in the supporting roles, including Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, John Cena, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, and Helen Mirren, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron.
There are many familiar faces returning for the tenth outing, including Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sung Kang. Diesel hopes to also entice Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson back into the mix. The Rock recently responded to Diesel’s social media message, saying, “My little brother Dwayne… the time has come.” Diesel and The Rock have a well-publicized feud.
“I swore that we would achieve and manifest the best Fast in the finale of 10,” he said after attempting to tug at The Rock’s no doubt extremely robust heartstrings. I say this with love… Please do not ignore the franchise. You have an important role to play. No one else can play Hobbs. Good luck in fulfilling your destiny.”
Fast & Furious 10 has been delayed for a short time, and is now scheduled for release in May 2023.
