The trailer for Venom: Let there be Carnage has dropped, along with some very interesting Easter eggs, and here at Let’s Talk Movies, we’re going to reveal and explain them. Even though it is only a 2 minute trailer, it is packed full of spicey Easter eggs for us to devour!

Stephen Graham will play the role of Detective Mulligan in the scene. The Detective hopes to use his connection with Eddie Brock and Cletus Kasady to his advantage in the story. It has exactly the same design as the Sam Raimi Spider-Man newspaper in the quick scene where he is angrily reading the paper. …and as he closes the paper, there’s more to tickle that pickle. The tiniest of peaks at a headline that appears to say, Avengers! WHAT DOES IT MEAN??

Could A ‘Secret Wars’ Movie Be On The Way?

When I asked Serkis about the similarities between Venom and Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe, he replied that Venom is more of a unique character, a story all his own. At the moment, they’re unaware, so how you react to it will depend on how they react to nods and small moments like this”.

Venom: Let there be Carnage Easter Eggs

It appears that perhaps this sequel will not rely on the webbed wall crawler, but instead will utilize that the door has been opened wide? That certainly seems to be the case! Michael Keaton’s role in another Sony Marvel project, Morbius, is the most obvious clue to this, even more obvious than this giant newspaper Easter egg. Although it has not yet been confirmed that Keaton will reprise his role as Adrian Toomes AKA Vulture from Spider-Man: Homecoming, it would be extremely odd if he ended up playing someone else.

In Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Tom Hardy plays Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist who is possessed by an alien Symbiote that gives him superpowers, as well as a violent alter-ego known as Venom. Woody Harrelson’s Cletus Kasady, a psychotic serial killer who becomes the host of an alien symbiote known as Carnage, complicates the symbiotic bromance more than ever before. The release date for Venom: Let There Be Carnage is September 24, 2021.
