The average amount of calories that might be burned in a 90-minute horror film is 113, which is equivalent to the amount of calories burned during a 30-minute walking session. During the research study, researchers found that their heart rate, oxygen intake, and carbon dioxide output increased when the study was conducted on 10 people. With all the screaming and jump scares in a horror movie, the genre induces stress in the viewer. Stress, brought about by intense anxiety and fear, suppresses the appetite and increases the metabolic rate, thus suppressing weight gain.
