Look, there have been some really famous cock ups with Irish accents, but we believe that we have focused too much on these actors and have decided to go a different route. In light of that, here are 7 actors who nailed the Irish Accent.

7. Cate Blanchett (Veronica Guerin)

As a beginning, we start with queen Galadriel, Blanchett proving that her status as one of the best actors to grace the silver screen is backed up by her ability to nail the hardest accent while making it look seamless in performance in the dark thriller true story of Veronica Guerin.

6. Will Poulter (Glassland)

The actors were playing a larger part in the film, with a fantastic Will Poulter, who was always excellent. In this dark movie about a young taxi driver who gets tangled up in the world of human trafficking while trying to save his mother from drug addiction and gets tangled up in the world of human trafficking while trying to save his mother, the young Londoner steals virtually every scene in which he appears.

5. Daisy Edgar-Jones (Normal People)

Who Will Be The Next James Bond?

This is not the first time Dasy has appeared on our screens. This actress, who exploded (pardon me…) on our screens during the lockdown in Normal People, is definitely a rising star who had a great career before Normal People and is seemingly going from strength to strength. She has revealed that her mum actually is Irish, which made getting the accent right a little easier. My mother is from the north of Ireland, so it helped me a lot. It makes it such a great experience to be able to sing the Irish accent and I have been to Ireland a lot as a child, so I understand what the ‘r’ sound sounds like, the specifics of the accent, and the general ‘sense of humor’ that comes with it”.

4. Paddy Considine (In America)

There is more to acting than accents. That is true, but running is more than just trainers. Even so, trainers are very helpful when running. If the actor seems to be at ease when speaking in a foreign language, viewers can feel relaxed.  From the Wcompletely in control of his Dublin accent in Jim Sheridan’s sentimental film.

3. James McAvoy (Inside I’m Dancing)

Let’s just say James McAvoy deserves more respect for his name. I believe he is one of the most underrated actors around, and his role as Rory O’shea in Damien O’Donnell’s serious comedy allowed the Scottish actor to show off his vocal gymnastics. Most people wouldn’t realize they were watching an actor from another country.  In Becoming Jane, McAvoy played a similar posh bloke from Limerick, but he lost his accent in the film.

2. Judi Dench (Philomena)

Dench who is no doubt royalty both on stage and in front of the camera, finds a wonderful ease with Philomena and is so charming throughout the entire film. Dench’s mother is Irish, which helped her tap into the accent.

1. Daniel Day-Lewis (My Left FootIn the Name of the Father and The Boxer)

 .

But what are you talking about? Sure, Daniel is Irish, his father was Irish, but he was born and spent most of his time in England, now this might change if we were talking about the greatest Irish actor to ever walk the earth, or if I did a top 7 list of the greatest actors of all time. In any case, Jim Sheridan found a muse in Day-Lewis, who provided the perfect northern and southern accents for a trio of films.

Here is our list, let us know what you think. Did we miss anyone? Did we order it incorrectly? Do we look like Emily Blunt? Let us know in the comments.
